Red and Black Candy Apples

Caramel and candied apples are always on the menu and these beauties by Matt Bites have us bubbling and brewing in the kitchen. Ebony branches poked inside shiny black and red gleaming apples will add a festive and spooky touch to the Halloween table this year.

Shopping List

  • 8-10 medium  apples
  • 8-10 wooden twigs, trimmed
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup of water
  • several drops of cinnamon flavored oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red food coloring
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black food coloring
