Whether it’s the back yard or beach front, a seat in front of an outdoor fire and a great cocktail is the perfect way to end the day and begin the evening.  Here in the Northwest, the weather should hold for the weekend, so it’s time to gather some peeps, throw another log on the fire and whip up Shaun the Bartender’s fantastic Washington Cocktail.

Washington Cocktail

  • 1 1/2 oz. Dry Vermouth
  • 3/4 oz. Cognac
  • 1 Tsp. Sugar
  • 2 – 3 Dashes of Aromatic Bitters

Method:  Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.  Stir well, then strain into a cocktail glass.

I need to warn you that this cocktail is not for those looking to hide the flavor of the booze, but to enjoy the combination that has been well crafted within this drink.  If you are a true cocktailer, this is something worth taking a look at.  Sometimes simplicity is the way to go.  I hope you enjoy!  Cheers!

I do recommend that you take a moment and watch Shaun concoct this little beauty right here.  Also, pop over to his site and hit the follow button.  There is a new cocktail every day for your imbibing and entertaining pleasure.
