Fresh Air & Root Beer on the Rogue River by Ginger Johnson

Ginger Johnson Fresh air, tasty beer, sun kissed faces and open minds. That’s what we had last weekend on the annual Raft & Craft trip WEB coordinated with ROW Adventures. The 4th annual trip was flavorfully altered this year to include root beer in the line up. Here’s what unfolded:

As a lodge stay trip (they offer great camping trips too), we enjoy the hospitality of two lodges on the Wild and Scenic Rogue River – Marial and Black Bar. Each night when we land for the day, I prep a tasting to happen for the guests and guides prior to dinner. This year we added Root Beer so I lead the group through a 4-course root beer, beer and food tasting.

Ginger JohnsonIt’s a lot of carbonated fun to pour samples of a beverage and offer complementary foods to enhance the experience and see the discoveries on peoples’ faces. You can see it as they smell, sip and chew. It’s visible education – and enjoyment for all.

Root beer, beer and food are all full flavored options to enhance your out of doors activities. It’s an honor and pleasure to work with ROW, to meet and get to know the guests who take the trip and refresh my awe of Mother Nature via raft.

Ginger JohnsonTry This: To make root beer and sodas at home is easy; get a good book on the topic and give it a whirl. You can shortcut it too (like we did on the rafting trip) with Root Beer syrup and sparkling water.
